Rabbi Dr. Jo David specializes in creating uniquely personal Jewish wedding ceremonies. She weaves the hopes and dreams of each couple into a deeply moving ritual that expresses their spirituality and hopes for the future. She welcomes all couples without judgement and offers the following:

  • Traditional Jewish Wedding Ceremonies
Traditional Jewish wedding ceremonies tie us to our ancestors. However, customs that resonated for couples in the past do not necessarily work in the 21st century. Rabbi Jo offers a customized Jewish wedding ceremony blending ancient and modern traditions that highlight the unique spiritual bond that every couple shares. Traditional, Conservative, Reform, Reconstructionist, Pluralistic, Brit Ahavah and Humanistic options can be incorporated into the ceremony.
  • Interfaith Ceremonies
Interfaith marriage ceremonies present special challenges for the couple who are marrying and for their families. Rabbi Jo has spent over 30 years helping couples and their loved ones navigate these rocky shoals. Sharing unique religious traditions from both sides of the family can be a way to bring everyone into a loving relationship. While planning the couple's dream wedding ceremony, Rabbi Jo helps all members of the family gain a feeling of love and inclusion.
  • Same-Sex Jewish and Interfaith Wedding Ceremonies
Every wedding ceremony should be “one of a kind.” Rabbi Jo has been helping same-sex couples find just the right way to say “I do” for almost 30 years. Some couples prefer traditional Jewish liturgy and customs, while others opt for a ceremony that features highly customized language and ritual.
  • Wedding Ceremonies for Transgender, Non-binary, Gender Fluid Individuals and Others
According to the Torah, all humans are fashioned in the image of the Divine. The bonding of two loving individuals is a sacred act in Judaism that is encouraged for all people. In the 21st century, we understand that ceremonies that celebrate this connection are not all alike; that such ceremonies should uplift the love between people leaving aside labels and definitions that restrict rather than offer welcome. Rabbi Jo offers all couples her support and guidance as they seek to craft a ceremony that celebrates their love.
  • Wedding Ceremonies Following a Conversion
When a married individual converts to Judaism, the couple needs a ketubah. There are many different ways to satisfy this legal requirement. Some married couples find that having a new wedding is an appropriate way to celebrate the change in their relationship and family status. Rabbi Jo has been performing these ceremonies for over 30 years. There are many different ways to approach this type of ritual. Each ceremony is unique and created to uplift the love and commitment that Jewish marriage brings to people who share a deep and on-going bond.
  • Vow Renewal Ceremonies
A vow renewal ceremony is an opportunity for a couple to look back on their lives and also to look forward. While not a traditional Jewish ritual, some modern couples look to Judaism to help them sanctify a significant wedding anniversary or life cycle event. Rabbi Jo is an expert in creating the perfect unique ceremony for each couple.
